Mrs. Emily Kramer was the PAThS Staff Member of the Week! She is a Reading Specialist but she used to be a Kindergarten teacher! This is her 8th year teaching. She attended Susquehanna University for her undergraduate degree. She got her Master’s from Bloomsburg and is currently getting her second Master’s from Wilkes! Family: Mrs. Kramer has a husband and two daughters (ages 2 and 1) and another baby on the way! Her pets include two dogs, a cat, chickens, and a hermit crab! Outside of school Mrs. Kramer likes going to grad school, gardening, and being active outside. She also enjoys baking with her daughters. Favorite Part of Teaching: Seeing that lightbulb “aha” moment in a child’s eyes and watching their love of learning grow!

Mrs. Orner is the PAThS Staff Member of the Week! She is a music teacher and this is her 22nd year at Midd-West. She attended Lebanon Valley College for both her Bachelor and Master Degrees. Family: I have a husband, Dan, and two sons Cole and Nate. We also have four cats. Favorite part of teaching: My favorite part of teaching music is helping my students be able to play an instrument and perform.

Mrs. Lantz is this week’s PAThS Staff Member of the Week! She currently teaches third grade but has also taught fourth and fifth grade. This is her fifth year teaching, but has been in the district for 18 years! Mrs. Lantz attended Penn State for her Associates Degree in Letters, Arts & Sciences. She received her Bachelors of Science in Education from Drexel University and is finishing her Master’s Degree from Wilkes University. Family: Husband, Huey; Children, Chloe & Riley; Dogs, Shiloh & Roxy; Cats, Miss Priss & Lucky Outside of school: I love going to the beach and I also love to cook and bake! I also like spending time outside with my family and dogs and also in my garden. Favorite Part of Teaching: My favorite part of teaching is seeing the growth students make over a year! I love creating a classroom environment that promotes family and natural curiosity! I love letting the student interest drive my instruction!

Mrs. Messimer is the PAThS Staff Member of the Week. She is a fifth grade teacher and has been teaching for seven years. She attended Penn State University and Wilkes University. Her family includes her husband, three children, Molly, Maddy, and Mason, and two dogs. Outside of School Mrs. Messimer enjoys camping, activities with her kids, going to Knoebels, the beach, Lewisburg Children’s Center, Gymnastics, fishing, cookouts, indoor water parks, swimming, Whitaker Center, Baltimore Aquarium, and so much more! Favorite Part of Teaching: Interacting with students every day, hearing their stories, and seeing the lightbulb go off when they have “learned.”

Mrs. Lindsey Snyder is the PAThS Staff Member of the Week! She is a kindergarten teacher and she has been teaching for 12 years. She attended Bloomsburg University and received her Master’s Degree from Wilkes University. Family: She has a husband named Chris. She has three daughters named Hailey, Makenna, and Taylin and one son named Brennen. They also have a dog, Judge! Outside of school activities: I love spending time watching my kids play sports, family outings, being outside in hot, sunny weather-especially at the beach! I also like hanging out with friends, exercising, and staying active. Favorite Part of Teaching: Seeing my students believing in themselves and seeing the excitement on their faces when they achieve goals. A message received from PDE acknowledging that schools may return to local decision making in regards to masking based on the PA Supreme Court Ruling, confirmed that there will be no challenges or additional legal maneuvers at the state level as far as instituting mask mandates in schools. To all families and staff, MWSD will return to the status of voluntary masking that is found in our Health and Safety Plans effective immediately.
