From March 28-30, Midd-West High School Key Club attended the Pa District Convention in Harrisburg. While there, students participated in different leadership trainings, team building opportunities and activities allowing them to network with other Key Club students from around the state.
While attending, clubs from around the state are recognized for their hard work within their communities and within Key Club itself. This year the MWHS Key Club came home with 10 awards. Divisions are made based on the size of the club with Bronze being clubs with less than 35 members. Midd-West is in the Bronze division and the following recognition was given:
Highest growth - 1st place
Highest club total service hours - 1st place
Highest club average service hours 1st place
Distinguished club video - 1st place

Bob Bagans Unsung Hero Award - Jayda Dunn (Robert “Bob” E. Bagans, the former Pennsylvania District Administrator, contributed much to the Pennsylvania District. This award recognizes those Key Club Members who just like Bob, work hard and show their dedication to the organization. Nominated member may not hold an executive office, but participate to their fullest extent. The member might not have the most service hours, but he/or she is one that always attends meetings and is there to lend a helping hand whenever needed.)
Sandy Nininger Award- Chloe Miller
(The Sandy Nininger Award honors Key Club members who distinguish themselves by making the most of their opportunities. They inspire us to care deeply, engage enthusiastically and make the most of our lives)
Key Club International is the oldest and largest student led community service organization for high school students, focused on developing leadership skills, and promoting service to others. Locally, the MWHS Key Club has participated in Bowl for Kid's Sake, volunteered at the Central PA food bank and Caitlins Smiles. They have also collected supplies for local shelters, Toys for Tots and hosted local book drives. Students have also helped with different activities with the MWSD special education dept. and have planned fun Holiday Events for the Pre K classes on campus.
