Midd-West High School November 2024

Midd-West High School would like to recognize the following students for being a Leader of the H.E.R.D. These students regularly exhibit one (or more) of the four-character traits of the H.E.R.D., being Helpful, Empathetic, Responsible, Driven, and contribute to Midd-West High School in a positive way.

MSThe 8th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for November is Melissa Sheaffer. She is the daughter of Chandler and Rachel Sheaffer of Middleburg. Melissa was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because she is a friendly and helpful student to both peers and staff, comes to class prepared, and is eager to learn. Melissa’s school activities include Girls Basketball, Field Hockey, and playing the flute in the Band. Outside of school, she enjoys drawing and attending her youth group. In the future, Melissa is planning to go to college.

JMJasmine Renninger is the 9th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for November. She is the daughter of Candice and Andrew Klinger of Middleburg. In school, Jasmine participates in Vocal Ensemble, Disney Club, and Tim-Burton Club. In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding, playing soccer, and spending time with her farm animals. After graduation, Jasmine is planning to attend college and has an interest in becoming either a NICU Nurse, detective, or an actress. Jasmine was selected as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because she is a kind, conscientious student who puts great effort into her assignments, volunteers in class, will ask for help when needed, and works well with her peers.

ZWThe 10th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for November is Zachary Williams. He is the son of Nicole Horst and Gregory Brouse of Beavertown. Zachary was selected as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because he is a polite student who is courteous to other students and staff by holding open doors and willingly helps when needed. Zachary’s favorite subjects are Geometry, Trigonometry, and History. Outside of school, he enjoys attending his youth group, doing metal work, using his mechanical skills, cooking, listening to music, and spending time with family. After graduation, Zachary is planning to become a car mechanic.

CHCarson Hill is the 11th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for November. He is the son of William and Deanna Brown of Mount Pleasant Mills. In school, Carson participates in Varsity Football, Bowling, and Yearbook. He enjoys working and spending time with friends and family. In the future, Carson is planning to attend SUN Area Technical Institute to study HVAC and pursue a career in that field. Carson was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because of his dedication to the yearbook staff. He faithfully took pictures of the football team throughout the season and has put forth a lot of time and effort preparing his photos for his PSPA submission.

The 12th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for November is Kadence Boyle. She is the daughter of Joseph Boyle of Milton and granddaughter of Dorothea Boyle of Middleburg. Kadence was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because she is a conscientious, hard-working, and kind student who radiates positivity and is willing to offer support in a way that is not demeaning to other students. She does an excellent job in all her classwork and enhances her work with an artistic flair. Kadence’s school activities include Community Arts and Art Club. Kadence participated in the window paintings in the Middleburg borough. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, painting, coloring, skateboarding, and playing games. After graduation, Kadence is planning to further her education by attending college for Human Services or something in the art field like being a Character Designer or Animator of Cartoons.
