Students of the Month

Midd-West High School would like to recognize the following students for as Students of the Month. These are students who represent Midd-West High School well through their academics, attendance, involvement in activities, and good citizenship (responsible, hard-working, and dependable).

EAThe 8th grade Student of the Month for November is Everett Aurand. He is the son of Christopher and Brittany Aurand of Middleburg. Everett was chosen as the Student of the Month because he always comes to class ready to learn and gets other students excited about the subject. He is developing his leadership skills and is growing into a great young leader. Everett’s school activities include FFA, Wrestling, and Football. Outside of school, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and farming. In the future, Everett is planning to go to Penn State University to study Mechanical Engineering and would like to work at CNH Industrial America.

MBMadeline Bonsall is the 9th grade Student of the Month for November. She is the daughter of Gregory and Marissa Bonsall of Middleburg. In school, Madeline participates in Key Club, Student Council, Thursday Morning Group, Concert Band, Susquehanna Valley Band, Varsity Girls Soccer, and Varsity Girls Basketball. In her free time, she enjoys playing Club Soccer, riding 4-wheeler, listening to music, lifting at the gym, attending church, participating in her youth group, hanging out with friends and family, and fishing with her dad and pap. After graduation, Madeline is planning to attend college and study an area in the medical field. Madeline was selected as the Student of the Month because she is a wonderful student who always strives for perfection, completing her work on time and with precision. She is a leader in the classroom who helps other students and is willing to work with others.

JDThe 10th grade Student of the Month for November is Jayda Dunn. She is the daughter of Rodney and Jennifer Dunn of Middleburg. Jayda was selected as the Student of the Month because she has been extremely helpful in her culinary class setting up labs, working with other students who may be behind, taking a leadership role, and volunteering extra time to prepare the Veteran Day treats. Jayda’s school activities include Key Club, Youth in Philanthropy Club, and Softball. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with her animals. After graduation, Jayda is planning to attend college to become a Forensic Psychologist.

KSKyle Shupp is the 11th grade Student of the Month for November. He is the son of Kevin and Denise Shupp of Beavertown. In school, Kyle participates in Football, Baseball, and Indoor Track. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and weightlifting. In the future, Kyle is planning to study Criminal Justice and apply for the Pennsylvania State Game Warden Academy to become a Game Warden. Kyle was chosen as Student of the Month because he is a hard-working student athlete who works well with others, participates in class, excels in all aspects of classwork and homework, and goes above and beyond.

BHThe 12th grade Student of the Month for November is Benjamin Hummel. He is the son of Jonathan and Pauline Hummel of Middleburg. Benjamin was chosen as the Student of the Month because he is an excellent role model both in and out of the classroom who has an extremely high work ethic, is motivated to succeed, and is responsible. Benjamin’s school activities include Cross Country and Track and Field. This past year in Track and Field, he was a State Champion in the 4x800 relay and a New Balance Nationals Qualifier in the 4x800 relay. This past fall, Benjamin became the first state Cross Country medalist in Midd-West High School history and the first Male State Medalist in school district history. He serves as the President of both the Senior Class and the National Honor Society. Benjamin recently hosted the National Honor Society Induction Ceremony. In his free time, he enjoys running, working, reading, hunting, attending his youth group, and hanging out with friends. After graduation, Benjamin is planning to further his education by attending Shippensburg University to study Communications/Journalism/Broadcast Media.
