Midd-West High School would like to recognize the following students for being a Leader of the H.E.R.D. (Helpful, Empathic, Responsible, and Driven)
The 8th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for February is Kaydin Bingaman. She is the daughter of Andrea Bingaman of McClure and Aaron Troup of Mt. Pleasant Mills. Kaydin was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because she is an active participant in Key Club. She helps to recruit new members, takes part in every event, and has a desire to help other people. In addition to Key Club, Kaydin’s school activities include Junior High Girls Soccer. Outside of school, she enjoys playing club soccer, baking, and babysitting her cousins. In the future, Kaydin may possibly enter the interior design field.
Evan Devine is the 9th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for February. He is the son of Timothy and Emily Devine of Beaver Springs. In school, Evan participates in Soccer and DECA. He was named The Daily Item Honorable Mention All Star in Soccer and placed third at the DECA Districts qualifying for DECA States. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer and listening to reggae music at the Sassafras Sip ‘n Dip. After graduation, Evan plans to continue his soccer career by playing at the collegiate level. He was selected as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because he is highly participative in class and Supervised Study and regularly offers to help other students.
The 10th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for February is Summer Meyer. She is the daughter of Stefanie Meyer of Beavertown. Summer was selected as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because she is an excellent student who is involved in organizations that are focused on giving back to the community. Summer’s school activities include Bowling, Key Club, Youth in Philanthropy, and Yearbook. Outside of school, she enjoys painting, fishing, cooking, bowling, and listening to music. Currently, Summer is undecided about her plans after graduation.
Catherine Reich is the 11th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for February. She is the daughter of Matthew and Mandy Reich of Beavertown. Catherine enjoys hunting, fishing, going to church, and playing the piano and guitar. In the future, Catherine is planning to become a Veterinarian Technician or enter the criminal justice field. She was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because she is a great student who is hard-working, dedicated to her studies, and always tries her best. In addition, Catherine is always willing to help her peers and respectful to her classmates and her teachers.
The 12th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for February is Macy Cook. She is the daughter of Kelly Cook and Joseph Cook, both of Middleburg. Macy was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because she is an extremely hard worker who asks questions when needed and is willing to help other students. Macy’s school activities include Volleyball and Lacrosse. In her free time, she enjoys reading, working at Kreamer Freeze, and hanging out with friends and family. After graduation, Macy is planning to enter the workforce.
