Dear MWSD Parents, Guardians, and Students:
We wanted to provide you with a final update on the FID Stakeholder Survey that was available to be completed online at the end of this school year. Below are highlights of the feedback from parents, guardians, and students. Based on the feedback and data, the MWSD will continue in the same manner in the upcoming year as we did for the 2023-2024 school year in regards school closures and make-up days. The first two days school is cancelled will be traditional closed days. Those make up days are already scheduled on the 2024-2025 school calendar and will then be Flexible Instruction Make-Up Days. Monday, February 17, 2025, and Tuesday, April 22, 2025, would be the FID Make-Up Days if we use two traditional closed days during the 2024-2025 school year. Instead of having the traditional in-person make up days on those dates, we will automatically have FIDs and not be in person on these two make-up days. Students will be receiving their instruction remotely on these two days. Following the two regularly closed days, FIDS would automatically be enacted on the same day school would be cancelled for a maximum of 3 more times in a school year with a maximum of only using 5 total FIDs in a school year. We thank you for your input and opinions shared about this important topic and we value our partnership.
