Anden will major in Business Administration and will be a great addition to the Bald Eagles as an 800m runner. This past Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Grant Yount and Matthew Smith competed in the PIAA AA State wrestling tournament. Grant wrestled a tough tournament but ultimately dropped two matches. Grant ended his junior season with a record of 28-20. Matthew wrestled a tough tournament and picked up a win in the quarter-finals over defending state champion Cooper Hornack of Burell to earn a spot in the state semi-finals. He dropped a tough match in the semi-finals but came back with an ultimate tie-breaker win in the consi-semi finals over Gaven Suica of Burgettstown for an opportunity to wrestle for 3rd place. In the 3rd place match, he wrestled tough but was unable to secure a victory and brought home a 4th place finish. Matthew ended his season with a 43-7 record. Congratulations to Grant and Matthew on a successful season!

Matthew Smith Update:
Matthew dropped a tough 5-1 decision last evening in the semi-finals. He bounced back with a 2-1 overtime victory in the consolation semi-finals this morning. He will wrestle for 3rd place later this morning. Congratulations Matthew, we are cheering for you!
Midd-West is sending two wrestlers to the PIAA championships in Hershey next week. At 139 lbs, Matthew Smith repeated as the NE Regional champion and will head to Hershey for the second year in a row. Also representing Midd-West at 172 lbs is Grant Yount, with a 4th place regional finish. Congratulations to both wrestlers and Good Luck in Hershey! Midd-West proud!
The Midd-West boys and girls bowling teams competed in the Regional tournament this past weekend in Lancaster. On the boys side during the team competition, Caden Stauffer rolled a 736 series and was the second highest overall score earning him a spot on the all-star team.
In the singles tournament on Friday, Paige Aucker secured a trip to States with a 205 average and 11th place finish. She will compete later this month and represent Midd-West in the girls singles. Way to go Paige!
Congratulations to the following Midd-West wretlers who finished in the top 6 in the PIAA AA District IV championships this past weekend. All 4 wrestlers will compete this Friday and Saturday at the Regional tournament to battle it out for a spot in Hershey.

Reminder - Spring sports for students in grades 9-12 will begin on Monday, March 4th. All athletes need a current physical (dated after 6/1/2023 or a recertification form if they already played a sport this year). These forms can be found in your healthy roster accounts. Winter Post-Season Updates...
The Midd-West winter athletes are still hard at work for the post-season. The bowlers will travel to the Lancaster area to participate in the Regional tournament. Singles will compete on March 1st and the teams on March 2nd. Competing in the singles tournament: Paige Aucker, Ava Hoover, Alyssa Aucker Kyle Beward and Caden Stauffer.
Boys basketball will travel to Shamokin on Friday, 2/23 at 7:00 pm to play in the first round of Districts.
Wrestling will compete in the District IV Individual Championships on Friday and Saturday, 2/23 and 2/24 at Williamsport. The following athletes will be competing: Mason Kerstetter, Evan Maneval, Matthew Smith, Charley Paige, Jay Yount, Grant Yount and Bryce Hackenburg.
Freshman swimmer, Olivia Solomon, will compete in the District IV Championships on Feb. 28th and 29th at Williamsport HS. She will compete in the 100 fly and 100 free events.

BIG Congratulations to junior Matthew Smith, who secured his 100th career wrestling victory at the PIAA District IV sectional tournament this past weekend. Matthew entered the day with 99 wins and was victorious in his 1st match, claiming the milestone. Matthew will continue along with 6 teammates in the District IV championships this weekend in Williamsport. Way to go Matthew!

Both the Midd-West varsity and JV cheer squads participated in the Milton Panther Challenge this past weekend. Both teams brought home the GOLD in their respective divisions. The varsity team won 1st in the Large Varsity Traditional division and the JV team won the Game Day JV division. Congratulations to both teams and coaches!
Congratulations to the Midd-West boys bowling team who brought home the PHAC championship with a close victory over Selinsgrove. The team of Kyle Beward, Caden Stauffer, Westin Kuhns, Collin Stauffer, Coltyn Bickel, Carson Hill and Rowan Kuhns bowled with composure to overcome the tough Seals team, 3-2. Way to go boys!
Kyle Beward also finished the season as the #1 average in the league for the 2nd year in a row. He finished the 2023-24 season with a 218 average to lead all male bowlers. Congrats Kyle!
Congratulations to Midd-West senior Noah Romig, who scored his 1,000 career point this past Friday evening. Noah joins 3 other Mustangs with this honor; Jerry Wagner, Emilee (Wagner) Shaffer and Kelli Beiler.
